Directions to La Bipolar
Breaking the tradition of centuries old cantinas, La Bipolar is a thoroughly modern addition to Mexico City's bar-come-eatery scene. Owned by adored Mexican actor Diego Luna (Y tu mamá también, Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights), the cantina is decorated with punchy pop culture-themed decor.
Drinks-wise, the focus is not only on tequila, but also its sister spirit mezcal, which has a sweeter, richer flavour, and is a popular choice among young, trendy Mexicans. The food here is great too - a range of traditional dishes cooked to perfection in innovative combinations. The vegetarian selection is extensive, something which makes many regulars come back for more. Try marlin tostaditas or tofu burritos - two of the most loved dishes on the menu.
