Directions to Mercado de Coyoacán
Coyoacan's Market was inaugurated in 1956 at the classy neighborhood Del Carmen. It is a one floor huge building with more than 460 stands of different local products, such as typical Mexican candies, piñatas, toys, decorations, fruits, vegetables, herbs, meats, fish, dairies, tortillas and sopes, flowers, worsted and threads, clothes, costumes, handicrafts, antiquities, electronic devises, make up, movies, music, juices and shakes... The list is endless!
In addition, what attracts many people from this market is its traditional Mexican gastronomy. You can find delicious seafood every day, amazing pork tacos during the weekend, juices of exotic fruits and flavors and the very traditional 'tostadas': deep-fried corn tortillas topped with different ingredients, such as beans, guacamole, pork, beef, seafood, vegetables, cream, avocado, cheese and salsas! This market should be a MUST in your things to do list of the city.
