SAN CARLOS NATIONAL MUSEUM. Paintings and Sculptures.
Its construction dates from the XVII century, and its collection came from the art galleries of the old San Carlos Academy, founded by Carlos III in Nueva España (New Spain). European artists from San Fernando Academy in Madrid, the Mexican Painting Academy, and private collectors have donated their art work to the National San Carlos Museum. Visitors can see the works of Rubens, Carrucci, Tintoretto, Zurbarán, Goya, Ingres, Clavé and Sorolla among other great masters of the European style. This museum houses 10 exhibition rooms, six of them have permanent exhibitions, and four dedicated to temporary exhibitions.
