The opening doors of the Museum was on December 17, 1986 in what used to be the parish of Santa Veracruz built in 1527.
The National Collection of Engravings hosts around 12,000 works, and is a representative sample of the national artistic heritage, demonstrating the great tradition of Mexican stamp, with authors such as José Guadalupe Posada, Leopoldo Mendez, Adolfo Mexiac, Mariana Yampolsky, Angelina Beloff, Julio Ruelas, David Alfaro Siqueiros and Rufino Tamayo.
